From freelancer to boutique studio.

I founded Sumit Brands in 2009 as a sole operator, taking on freelance web projects for small businesses across Australia. Over time the studio grew — in capability, in client ambition, and in the complexity of work we could take on — but the core promise never changed: every client works directly with me, not a project manager, not a junior, not an offshore contractor.

I hold an MBA with a specialisation in E-Commerce, and I've spent the last 16 years applying that commercial lens to every brief. A website or SEO strategy that doesn't serve a business goal isn't just a waste of money — it's a missed opportunity.

No outsourcing is a deliberate policy. I've seen what happens when work gets handed off — quality thins, accountability disappears, and the client ends up re-briefing the same thing three times. Everything at Sumit Brands is built in-house, which means I can stand behind every pixel and every line of code.

How I think about client work.

Senior from brief to launch.

Your account is never handed to a junior. I run the discovery session, write the strategy, oversee the build, and sign off on the launch. You get one person who is responsible for the whole thing — and that person has 16 years of context to draw on.

Honest scoping.

If something won't work, I'll tell you before you've paid for it. Plenty of agencies will nod along to a brief and charge you to find out it was the wrong approach. I'd rather have an uncomfortable conversation upfront and deliver something that actually works.

Built to compound.

Every deliverable should keep paying off. A website should keep generating leads. An SEO strategy should keep building authority. A brand identity should keep creating recognition. Work that doesn't compound isn't worth doing.

What I've worked on.

The studio covers the full digital growth stack for Australian businesses: web design and development across WordPress, Webflow and AI-stack builds; SEO and content strategy for businesses that want to be found on Google; brand identity for businesses that want to look the part; and social media management for brands that need consistent presence.

In recent years, AI has become a major part of the practice. I build AI chatbots and RAG systems, AI voice agents for inbound calls, AI content studios for high-volume asset production, and workflow automations using n8n and Make. I also run AI training workshops for teams who want to actually use these tools, not just talk about them.
